What Is
Hypnotherapy? Hypnosis is not something someone else does to you.
It is a process that you learn to do to yourself. The goal is
for you to be able to learn how to go into a quiet place in your
mind and find the answers that are inside
you. You are in control of your life and have
the ability to access your inner wisdom and hidden
answers. About 70% of the population is receptive to hypnosis.
If you are not receptive, it does not mean that you
cannot be hypnotized, it just means that you do not
want to! Your rational mind needs to give permission to go
into the sub-conscious mind—the mind that has no limits and is a
field of pure potential waiting to create any life you
want.
During hypnosis, you are gently guided into a
daydream-like state where your body and mind
can completely relax. When the daily chatter of the mind
is quieted down it becomes an optimal time to make
suggestions for behavioral changes. This is where you can
access your own internal wisdom to make the necessary changes
you need. You are always 'awake' and able to know
what is being said. I actually like to think of
'hypnotizing' someone more like 'de-hypnotizing' them. Think
about it. We live in a culture that promotes
'hypnotizing' all of us daily, through; false and
unrealistic advertisements, outgrown religious dogmas,
Governmental bureaucracy, or misguided medical opinions telling us
that we are in a 'terminal' situation. For the most part, we
believe all of them! The truth is, we are all in a
terminal situation, and it is a matter of learning how to live
comfortably and happily within whatever stage of termination we are
in! Hypnosis is amazing. It is taking back the control of your life,
no matter what you are going through by tapping into your own
innate 'knowing' through the power of your
imagination. It is about finding your own way to look
at and change some of the belief systems you may have lived
with for years that are not adding to your life anymore. Most of
the beliefs we have were given to us from someone else, and they
got their beliefs from someone else, and down the line. Our incredible bodies have the innate ability to heal
themselves (watch when you cut your finger what happens). When
we put ourselves in a state of complete relaxation, we
access anther part of our mind that wants to make us well,
help us with our fears or work towards relieving us of our
stressful life. |
